First Senior Session! Meet Jenna | Lakeland Florida Photographer

I was so excited about my session today with Jenna!  She is a senior this year at George Jenkins High School and her schedule is PACKED full of fun senior stuff.  I was glad we could make this happen and capture some photos during this really exciting whirlwind time in her life.  There are many more photos to come, but I couldn't resist posting at least ONE of my favorites tonight.  Come back and visit tomorrow - I will have posted a TON more.

The other exciting news is that I'm working on a NEW blog!  It will be a clean, sophisticated, customized change from the old blogspot template :o) So hold on tight - changes coming soon!

... and here are a few more

Lauren + Brandon | Orlando Florida Photographer

Meet Lauren and Brandon.  These two have been married for a few years now and recently moved back to Florida from Atlanta. We are so thrilled to have them back in Florida and only a hop, skip, and jump away from family and old friends.  They purchased their first home and have also added a new furry addition to the family - Chester!  Needless to say, it was time for some new family photos.

For those of you wondering what kind of pup this cute little guy is - he's a maltipoo (even the name is adorable)!

Enjoy.

Adrienne + Brian | Lakeland Florida Photographer

Meet Brian and Adrienne.  I had the pleasure of spending my morning with this couple in downtown Lakeland and was thrilled to take photos of their love in motion.  The whole engagement period is a whirlwind of sorts... so many decisions leading up to the day that can't come soon enough: taffeta or silk; vanilla or chocolate; lilies or hydrangea; inside or outside - there's a lot to think about! In the midst of all the planning, as the photographer, I love helping brides and grooms let loose a little, untuck their shirts, and get reacquainted!

Yes - there is something totally awkward silly about making-out in a back ally as I take your photograph - but the love is just exploding in each photo! Adrienne and Brian, I hope you are able to look at these photos in the years to come and remember it all - the anticipation, the preparation, but most of all the love. November 20th or BUST!

Also - be sure to visit over the weekend for some photos from tomorrow's Engagement Session with Adrienne and Brian.

Enjoy!

First Day of Kindergarten - Lakeland Florida Photographer

Today was a special day as parents sent their Kindergarteners off to school for the first time.  I spent my morning with lots of proud parents as they hugged their kids and wished them a happy first day of school.  It was so precious to watch these little ones make friends in their first few minutes at their new school... including one little girl who exclaimed, "Mom, her name is Grace too!"

Thank you McKeel Elementary Academy for inviting me to spend the morning with you all.  What a treat!

Back to School Jitters - A Tribute

This week is a big week for a lot of kids out there!  Summer is officially ending and a new school year awaits.  I was always torn about going back to school, but loved having a full backpack of new supplies: sharp colored pencils, crayons, and markers, (just waiting to be used), a trapper-keeper, new folders for each class, (a different color for each subject, of course), several #2 pencils and erasable black and blue pens.  I was flipping through a memory book my mom made for me when I graduated and came across this letter:

"The first time I came to 3rd grade, I was so excited because I was going to learn cursive.  At first I was a little scared because I wasn't sure what to do, why I had to do it, and plus I was shaky all over.  I'm really glad my mom sent me to school.  I have the best friends, the best teachers (the boys there are ok) and best of all my family."

Shaky all over? Really? I was such a drama queen. Oh, those were the days. Remembering all the joys and woes of my school days, I wanted to do a special "Back to School" post for all the kiddos out there waking up before the sun over the next few weeks. Here's to you, your overstuffed backpacks, the friends you'll make, (and girls, the boys you'll like) and most of all - the families who love you enough to support you through this experience.

Central Florida Photographer - Vacation to North Carolina

This last week, Brian and I traveled to North Carolina to meet up with family.  What a beautiful state.  It was neat to experience all these places with his family.  Banner Elk, NC has so much character - everywhere I looked was a beautiful photo session location.  If only Florida was as rustic and simple. Enjoy!
